The osteopath is the professional who aims to identify the cause of a symptom through various manipulations.

If you experience:
MUSCLE PAIN, JOINT PAIN, REDUCED JOINT MOBILITY, FUNCTIONAL PROBLEMS AT A VISCERAL LEVEL:
THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME TO CONTACT AN OSTEOPATH

Specifically:
NECK
PAIN
LOW BACK PAIN
HEADACHES GASTROINTESTINAL
DISORDERS PAIN CAUSED BY OLD TRAUMAS
URINARY AND GYNECOLOGICAL DISORDERS

Furthermore, the osteopath can also have a preventative function, acting in early childhood, in adults and before/after childbirth.

When you turn to an osteopath, the disorder to be treated must RESOLVE within more or less 3/5 sessions over the course of 1/2 months.

Sometimes a relatively long period of time (for example, a month) can pass between two sessions. Why? This time allows the patient’s body to adapt and self-regulate to the adjustments the osteopath has made.

If no encouraging results are achieved within this time frame, it is necessary to interrupt the sessions and seek further medical advice.

The first visit begins with an introductory interview (ANAMNESIS)

The anamnesis consists of understanding the characteristics of the pain/problem, the patient’s lifestyle, and reconstructing the history of previous traumas.

Subsequently, the osteopath will be able to identify the cause of the problem through tissue palpation and a postural analysis of the patient.

Each session is different; osteopathy is person-centered and does not work according to protocols.

In addition to the assessment, if possible, the osteopath will begin treatment during the first session. This treatment lasts a maximum of one hour.

It involves treating bone, muscle, or visceral tissue with a very gentle and gentle approach, always respectful of the tissue.

The osteopath seeks out the stiffest areas, which may also be painful, using various methods to release them and restore mobility, offering the patient a feeling of lightness and immediate well-being that will last over time.

Absolutely not. All the techniques are very gentle. Sometimes you may experience slight discomfort or discomfort during the techniques, which disappear immediately after the technique is completed.

Structural techniques (which produce the popping sound) may seem risky and are performed sporadically in cases of structural dysfunction. When performed correctly, they are gentle and painless.

Osteopaths view patients from a holistic perspective, therefore treating the person as a whole, not just the symptomatic areas; physiotherapists focus primarily on the symptomatic area.

While physiotherapy widely uses electromedical equipment such as ultrasound or Tecar therapy, osteopathy’s approach is exclusively manual.

Osteopaths do not perform rehabilitation; they can integrate into a rehabilitation program, including post-operative rehabilitation, and assist with specific therapies.

The common point is that the two disciplines are based exclusively on manual practice.

However, we can distinguish at least two main differences: chiropractic works exclusively on the joints, while osteopaths work on the osteo-articular, but also cranio-sacral and visceral areas.

Another difference can be found in the time and number of sessions, which for osteopaths range from 40 minutes to 1 hour for an average of about 3/5 sessions, for chiropractors it ranges from 10 to 15 minutes, for a number of sessions ranging from 10 to 15.

Osteopaths often collaborate with doctors, nutritionists, podiatrists, etc.

professional osteopath

Osteopathy is a safe and natural manipulative therapy that helps the body regain its balance by addressing tensions and dysfunctions that can affect daily health.

It is a valuable support for the entire family—from children to adults—and for athletes, promoting recovery, preventing injuries, and improving quality of life.

Through gentle and targeted techniques, osteopathy stimulates the body’s innate ability to self-regulate, contributing to lasting and personalized physical well-being.

functional re-education

Functional rehabilitation is a crucial phase of the therapeutic process, especially for athletes.

After osteopathic treatment, this phase allows for proper reintegration of motor skills, regaining full joint function, and preventing relapses.

Through targeted, progressive, and sport-specific exercises, we guide the athlete from treatment to the field, reducing recovery time and improving movement quality.

spinal gymnastics

Spinal exercises are an activity aimed at improving spinal health, helping improve posture, mobility, and muscle tone. Through gentle, controlled exercises, they are recommended for preventing or alleviating back pain, reducing tension, and strengthening deep muscles.

Suitable for all ages, they are particularly useful for those with sedentary jobs or postural issues.

Spinal exercises are an essential element in consolidating and complementing the benefits of osteopathic treatment and help maintain long-term well-being.

rebalancing with pancafit

Pancafit sessions are an effective postural tool that, through global and decompensated muscle stretching, helps rebalance the body, improve posture, and reduce joint tension and pain.

It is suitable for people of all ages and is particularly recommended for stiffness, muscle stress, or chronic problems.
As in a true “workshop,” we manually treat the cause of the problem with osteopathy and optimize the results with the pancafit, for comprehensive work on posture and functionality.

About me

My name is Gianluca Madda, I was born in Lucca on March 30, 1987, and I’ve always had a strong passion for sports and helping others.

In 2012, I graduated in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of Pisa, with a thesis focused on the development of motor patterns in individuals with motor disabilities. From the very beginning of my academic journey, I’ve been particularly fascinated by the concept of posture, and over the years I’ve deepened my knowledge in this field by attending several specialization courses.

In 2016, I became a certified Pancafit® technician using the Raggi® method, specializing in postural rebalancing for conditions such as scoliosis and herniated discs.

My growing interest in posture naturally led me to the world of osteopathy, a discipline I had first encountered as a patient during my football-playing years. That passion soon turned into a professional calling.

In 2021, I completed a 6-year program at the AbeOS Institute in Bologna, with a thesis on osteopathic treatment of cervicogenic headache. During the same period, I registered with the Registro degli Osteopati d’Italia (ROI).

Alongside my core studies, I have consistently continued my education through postgraduate courses on:

  • Vertebral dysfunctions and posture

  • Integrated approach to the lower limb

  • Integrated approach to the upper limb

  • Pediatric osteopathy (Frymann method)

In January 2020, after years of experience in an orthopedic and physiotherapy clinic, I opened my own practice in Capannori: Officina del Corpo.

What I Do

At Officina del Corpo, I offer:

  • Personalized osteopathic treatments

  • Postural rebalancing with Pancafit

  • Spinal mobility training

  • Functional rehabilitation

I work in synergy with other healthcare professionals — including kinesiologists, orthopedic specialists, general practitioners, physiotherapists, and podiatrists — to provide each patient with a complete, customized treatment path.

SPECIALIZED IN TREATING ATHLETES

Osteopathic treatment for athletes: the “tune-up” that gets you back on track

In the world of sports, your body is your race car: every muscle, joint, and fascia is a vital gear in your performance engine. Here at Officina del Corpo, we’re your body’s mechanics, ready to give you the tune-up you need to stay at your best.

Osteopathic treatment for athletes isn’t just about pain relief — it’s about prevention, rehabilitation, and movement optimization. We carefully assess every “part” that’s not functioning perfectly — a blocked joint, a tight muscle, an altered balance — and use precise manual techniques to “fix” it.

But we don’t stop there: our in-studio “mini gym” is the testing ground. Here, after treatment, we guide you step by step through movement retraining, building strength, flexibility, and motor control for a safe and confident return to your sport.

Just like in any good workshop, the goal is simple: eliminate “rattles” and “power leaks,” boost your performance, and most of all — get you back on track, stronger than before.

Because your body is your most valuable machine — and it deserves the best tune-up.

Athletes “in the workshop”: who can get a tune-up with us?

  • Runners and joggers
Tireless engines pounding out miles: we perform a full check-up to prevent wear and blockages, keeping your legs and back light and quick.

  • Footballers and team sport players
High-speed, high-impact athletes with components constantly under stress: we help repair muscles and joints to get them back in the game.

  • Cyclists
Endurance machines often struggling with postural tension: in the workshop, we fine-tune every part for smooth, pain-free pedaling.

  • Swimmers
Fluid engines that demand exceptional shoulder mobility: we release tension to ensure clean, resistance-free strokes.

  • Combat sports athletes
Bodies in full gear taking intense hits and strain: we target and repair every “part” that took a beating.

  • Skiers and snowboarders
High-speed vehicles on unpredictable terrain: we restore flexibility and elasticity to prevent breakdowns and injury.

  • Dancers and gymnasts
Precise, agile machines where every move matters: we optimize alignment and fluidity for flawless performance.

  • Tennis and racquet sport players
Engines with fast, repetitive movements: we correct imbalances to prevent premature wear and keep power in the arm and shoulder.

  • Fitness enthusiasts and amateur athletes
Always-ready machines often worn down by overload: our tune-up helps them move better and prevent issues before they arise.

At Officina del Corpo, every athlete is a unique machine: our job is to give you the right tune-up, adjust every component, and get you back on track — stronger and more efficient than ever.
